Packing an Essentials Box when you move house

If you've moved house on numerous occasions then you know how frustrating it can be when you've packed everything in boxes, but then you need your shampoo or can't find that outfit you need for work. So it's a great idea to pack an "Essentials Box" and/or a suitcase or overnight bag with a few outfits and toiletries that you'll need strait away, especially if you are like most of us and don't have the entire house unpacked and put away with 24 hours (if you're like me then it's more likely to be weeks before it's all unpacked!)

Here are some ideas for what to pack in your essentials box.

  • Change of clothes; pyjamas; work outfit for Monday
  • Toiletries
  • Baby essentials; nappies, clothes, bottles, formula, food, toys etc
  • Medicines
  • Pet food
  • Sun block
  • A rubbish bag, cloth, tea towel
  • Spray cleaner

  • Bottled water
  • The toaster
  • The jug/kettle
